Notes: | The Moray Flag is a community flag proclaiming the unique identity of this historic Scottish county. The green hoist and golden wheatsheaf recall Moray’s rich agricultural output, while the wavy blue and green references the sea and sand of the coast. It also represents the origin of the name Moray, which derives from the Gaelic or Pictish denoting a connection with the sea. The designer of the Moray Flag was Aila Gibson of Dallas Primary School, who took part in the flag-raising at Elgin Town Hall on Saturday 28 October. There was also a series of simultaneous events in Forres, Lossiemouth, Fochabers and Rothes. View all the shortlisted designs here or read more in Grampian Online. |
