We marked our 50th Anniversary on St George’s Day, 23 April 2021 and spent a full year celebrating!
All our Golden Jubilee events were online or hybrid – a Flag Institute first – beaming every talk live to a global audience.
Thanks to our international line-up of speakers:
- Filmmaker Patrick O’Connor joined us from Chicago
- Visual artist Luke Jerram zoomed in from Bristol
- Brian Elliott (European Maritime Safety Agency) worked late in Lisbon
- David Field FAICD (Merchant Navy War Memorial Fund Ltd) rose early Down Under
- And our partners in flag organisations worldwide played a big part in the festivities
