HM Queen Elizabeth II has reigned for longer than any other British monarch and celebrates her Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
Flags, of course, will play a big part in the festivities.
There is no official Platinum Jubilee flag so various styles are available – including many that display the official Platinum Jubilee Emblem (shown left).
No specific limitations or regulations apply if you wish to fly a Platinum Jubilee flag.
We suggest that the Jubilee celebration weekend (2-5 June) is a good time to hoist it.
A Platinum Jubilee flag should preferably fly on a flagpole on its own.
If you wish to fly it alongside the Union Flag, the latter takes precedence – preferably hoisted on a separate pole. If you only have one flagpole, the Union Flag would fly above any Platinum Jubilee flag. However, we would generally discourage this practice for protocol and practical reasons.
