Entries can now be submitted to a competition launched to find flags for Eriskay, Benbecula and North Uist and will be accepted until the closing date on 7th June 2019.
It is believed this is the first time three distinct communities have come together to run competitions in parallel, with the process co-ordinated through a steering group that includes representatives from each Community Council and other several local organisations
Competition packs (and future information) can be obtained from outlets on each island, the ‘Hebridean Flag Competitions’ Facebook Page, by request to uist.flags@gmail.com or downloadable from the Flag Institute, here: https://www.flaginstitute.org/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/A-Flag-for-Benbecula-Eriskay-North-Uist-Competition-Pack-Final.pdf
Entry is open to all and islanders including those living on the mainland, or in countries abroad, are particularly encouraged to participate. The competition will mirror the process used in Caithness and Tiree with each island narrowing entries down to a shortlist that will be put to a public vote later in the summer.
Any update on this?
Is there any latest information on the three Isles competition which I had read was due to close (for entries) at the end of October / beginning of November?
