| Notes: | The Herefordshire Flag is a community flag proclaiming the unique identity of this historic English county. The red field represents the famous red earth of the county and also evokes the reddish-brown coat of Hereford cattle. In the top centre is the head of a Hereford bull with its typical wide white face. Below this, three alternate wavy stripes in blue and white represent the River Wye flowing through the county. The Herefordshire Flag Committee organised a public competition to choose this flag, which was first hoisted in November 2019 at a ceremony at Hereford Cathedral. |
