AGM, Winter Conference and President’s Dinner – Birmingham 2013

This years Winter Conference and AGM is being held on the 16th November in Birmingham. We will be hosted by the prestigious Birmingham & Midland Institute – http://bmi.org.uk/ The venue is only a couple of minutes of walk from Birmingham Snow Hill station and easily accessible from anywhere in the city centre.

The provisional agenda for the day is as follows:

  • 10:00-10:30 – Reception
  • 10:30-12:00 – AGM (90 mins)
  • 12:00-12:30 – Break
  • 12:30-13:00 – ‘Birmingham Heraldry’ Adrian de Redman, Birmingham City Honorary Armorist (30 mins)
  • 13:00-14:00 – Lunch
  • 14:00-14:30 – ‘Maritime Flags’ Geoff Parsons(30 mins)
  • 14:30-15:00 – ‘The Black Country Flag Competition’ Melanie Weatherley, Black Country Living Museum (30 mins)
  • 15:00-15:30 – Break
  • 15:30-16:00 – ‘FIAV 2013 Review’ Graham Bartram (30mins)
  • 16:00-16:15 – ‘FIAV 2017 Discussion’ Geoff Parsons (15 mins)
  • 16:00-16:45 – Show & Tell
  • 16:45-17:00 – End

The President’s Dinner will be held at 19:30 after the Winter Conference. This year we will be dining in St Paul’s Club – http://www.stpaulsclub.co.uk/ which itself is also only a few minutes walk from the British & Midland Institute. The menu will be:

  • Vegetable Soup
  • Roast Lamb with Roast Potatoes & Vegetables (or Stuffed Peppers as the vegetarian option)
  • Apple Crumble with Custard or Ice cream
  • Cheese & Biscuits
  • Coffee & Mints

    Excellent news, the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Cllr Mike Leddy, and the Lady Mayoress will be attending the dinner. 😀

      This is great to see following on from the excellent support given to the last International Heraldry Conference hosted by the City of Birmingham and chaired by Robert Noel Esq HM Lancaster Herald of Arms in Ordinary.
